I can't wait to start swordfighting and/or boxing with my TV! That thing's been asking for a challenge ever since it started screwing up the AV stuffs whenever I plug in my systems.

*drooooooool* aaaah its so amazing. I never thought that it would be possible to completely revolutoionize the controler (I mean come on, its a controler. You move the stick with your left tumb and push buttons with the right. Thats how its always been! But lo! This proves my thinking merely square!! Leave it to Nintendo, eh?)I think this could be soooo cool. I read that at the demo they had a Metroid prime demo. How amazing would it be to aim with the right hand, and move the the left! AAAAHH so cool. We <3 Katamari sounds awesom, I need too play it. I also heard that Twilight Princess release got pushed back. They say they're making it better. . .. *sigh* I guess I can wait a little longer. KH2 has a release date of Dec 22 in Japan or something. Oh and sorry I havent Posted in a while. For anyone who doesn't know, I have Pnumonia. It kinda takes it out of you. Now I have boku Make up work and project work today. Oi. Well I should go do that now. Sayanora!

So, I picked up Shadow of the Colossus on the way to work, and I must say, Dude.
Really the game is astounding. The art in it is amazing. The game might not be XBOX 3,000,000 powered, but it uses amazing style. And the Colossi. The first, and the smallest, is a good 5 stories. There's no button mashing to ram your way to the boss, because there's nothing but the boss. 16 of 'em. You'd think "Then where's the fun?" The second colossus took me 30 minutes to beat. It's no Final Fantasy, but it's far more epic, not the grand scale, but each fight is one of the grandest ever. Legolas has nothing on Wanda.
Edit: I'd like to note that Captain Jack, Francisco Alejandro Gutierrez as he is known in the "real world", died of a a cerebral haemorrhage. This would be the Captain Jack of DDR.

Can we forego the lamenting I'll do for the death of Cap'n Jack and just say that I cried for two days?
Dammit, now there's no more reason to play new DDR games. None.

I'm sorry, but for that to become official, we need video of it. So, no. Start crying. With a video camera.
So, Shadow of the Colossus is amazing. The smallest colussus yet was the size of a The Short Bus. The largest... I'd say a thousand feet tall. I know it's not the biggest, but I was still the size of its tooth. The battles are more than Street Fighter could dream. Button mashing will only get you splatted. You have to run for your life until you get a flash of inspiration, then hope it works. If it does, you'll get a chance to scale the beast, holding on for dear life, in hopes of reaching a magic seal. Stab a few times, and it'll die. Repeat.
Edit: Paragraph'd for clarity.

The battles are more than Street Fighter could dream. Apples are so much better than oranges!

I actually perfer oranges. People say you can't compare things of a different nature, but for a video game, it's all about the fun, and 9 outta 10, I'd take the orange. They're tastier. And really, Shadow's closest relative is a fighter. A series of battles against single opponents, some story in between. It might be a twist on it, but it's still the best fit. It's more Granny Smith compared to a Golden Delicious. And Golden Delicious is better.

The whole second player competitive aspect is out, and with that, the need to balance all the characters so matches will be equal no matter who they pick (with the exception of the one unplayable godly end boss). It's more of a boss battle game, so in that sense, closer to something like the Megaman Power Battle games. I see what you're saying about the overall enjoyability factor and that's fine, but it doesn't come off so well when you're comparing it to a series of games trying to do something completely different.

And that difference is? I've always been convinced games existed for entertainment... Even education ones use it to keep attention...

An equal grounds competitive fighting game as opposed to a boss fighting game where you're a little pip trying to kill a giant?
And er, yes, games are for entertainment, yes. Again, that's fine if you like a game overall more than another, but it's just a weird comparison.

Like a game more than another? I thought we were talking fruit opinions... I never did say I liked one more, but that SotC has grander battles than a traditional fighting game. The scale of it is fantastic (Try TGS 2005). Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing would have been an odd comparison, but these games both have combat, and any clash has scale. SotC happens to have battles that Street Fighter (Zelda, Final Fantasy, Morrowind, Worms, Mario, Sonic, KOTOR, Earthbound even, nearly any game centered on violence works.) could never dream of. The world may not be at stake, but the world is the least of your worries with this mad at you, note the hero on the "sword". That doesn't make it better than any other game, that would be no better than Xbox fan boys, but it wouldn't seem nearly as grand if it seemed fair.

It wasn't my fault you wanted a fight.
Anyway, Mario Kart DS is awesome. Wireless internet battle? Great idea. My friend code: 352246 841684 If you can, get yours up and we might just be able to play.
