It's good to see people have voted now. Someday you might actually get what you want!
Ep. 1-6
An anime without violence, comedy or romance to power it? It can't be done, can it?
Yes, it can.
Haibane Renmei is story driven. It's about a group of angel-like humans called Haibanes. They have little clauses in their life. They can only use used goods, no brand-new shoes, somebody had to have worn them. They can't get money. Pay from their jobs is sent through an enigmatic system to businesses for them. They can't leave the wall that surrounds the city.
One Haibane who wonders what all this stuff has to be, and the story goes of there.
The story is deep enough to power a whole show off of, and it does really well. Even without all the supports, it works. Even for a weirdo like me. The characters are deep, the story is well done. Cinco. (5 for the Germans and Japanese, I scoff the Frenchies)
The sound goes with an orchestrated style. Suits the calmer style of the series, and is used just often enough. A 4.5.
The art is a great support for the series too. The style is a little more toned down than say, Scryed, and it's quite detailed. The backgrounds are awesome, and the characters are simple, yet not to a poorly drawn level, just so they don't contrast the background. A 5.
Overall, a truly outstanding series. It scoffs violence, and mocks cheap humor. Bit dramatic. An awesome show to actually watch, unlike so many others. A 5 for the orginality and pioneering this show has done.
A vote for Nader is a vote for Dictatorship. The choice is placed in my hands about the show we watch.
