Argh, I had a busy week working on my costume on top of everything else, so it has been a delayed reveiw. It's like the saying "You get what you pay for." I've been paid nothing, so why do I do this?
E.P. 1-8
Chobits is a bit confusing, but the sum is, it's the future and new computers have been invented. They have robotic bodies and can act much like humans. The main character is a ronin (someone who failed college exams and is trying to get in still.) He just saw persocons (the computer/robots) and is amazed by them, but as all main characters in anime, is completely broke. He was walking home one night and hey, would you have guessed that he found an incredibly strange persocon in the trash?
It was bound to happen. The story is pretty strange, but it seems a compilation of other animes. It also goes very close to a magical girl style with the persocon he finds. It's like dry bread laced with crack. You don't know why you keep watching it, but you do. It gets a 3.5 for the crack.
The art is nice It's not eye-poppingly great, but it does go a step above the rest. The animation is fluid. It has nice visuals overall. 4.
The sound is well done. The music has variety, but often you can hear a song every now and then. It doesn't use the song too much, but variety is good. The voices suit the characters. The music just could be cooler. 4.5.
Overall, it's a pallette-swap series. It does it amazingly well, though. It just could lay of the magical girl stuff. If it did, it could be seemingly realistic in the future. That's its biggest flaw. A 4.
